Implementation of Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) in Surguja District
Implementation of Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) in Surguja District

The National Informatics Centre (NIC), Surguja District Centre, Chhattisgarh, under the guidance of the State Government and the initiative of the District Collector, has successfully implemented the Face-based Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) across all departments and offices in Surguja District to ensure punctuality and regularity among officers and employees.

At the first stage, AEBAS was rolled out in the Collectorate Building and all Revenue Offices, where more than 100 employees are now marking their attendance daily. The Medical Department has also adopted the system in the CMHO Office and all block offices. In the second stage, implementation is being extended to all other government departments and offices in the district.

The system allows employees to mark their attendance through Face-based Aadhaar Authentication within a 90-meter GPS radius of their designated office location. To facilitate smooth adoption, hands-on registration and onboarding-cum-training sessions were conducted on 18 August 2025 and 25 August 2025 at the Collectorate Meeting Hall. Following this, employees installed the mobile-based AEBAS application on their personal devices.

All employees of Surguja District are now onboarded into the system. Each department/office has been provided with separate user logins to monitor employee punctuality, verify attendance records, and generate reports independently.
