eChallan Training session in progress

Guwahati, Assam, September 17, 2019: In preparation for the anticipated launch of the NIC eChallan mobile enforcement solution by the Assam Transport Department all over the State of Assam, a hands-on training programme on eChallan was organized for 33 District Transport Offices (DTOs) comprising about 175 Assam Transport personnel. Senior NIC Assam officials and project personnel conducted the Training programme in the presence of the Commissioner Transport, Additional Commissioner Transport and other senior officials of the Assam Transport Department. NIC Delhi and NIC Kolkata also worked in tandem to make the initiative a successful one.

A few days before the training programme, a live run of the eChallan system was conducted successfully for the pilot DTO of Kamrup (Metro) on August 31, 2019.

The five-day training programme held in the conference room of the Commissioner Transport, Assam, spanned from September 09 to 16, 2019, with holidays in between. The objective of the programme was to enable all enforcement personnel to operate the entire eChallan system, and comprised detailed presentations and hands-on sessions. At the end of their training, participants from each district issued a live challan each and made online payment through credit/debit cards.

Each DTO was also issued a demo device along with their allotted devices so that they could practice and hone their skills. The Assam Transport Department is now fully ready to launch the NIC-developed eChallan system.
