A one day training programme on “Data Analytics Technologies & tools (Tableau)” was conducted at NIC – State Centre, Atal Nagar, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) on the 24th April 2019. While the NIC officers from Chhattisgarh State Centre directly took part in the training, other officers from NIC District Centres joined through Videoconferencing. The application development staff of various projects also attended the training.  At the outset Shri. D. K. Debnath, SIO Chhattisgarh emphasized the need for all officers and developers to upgrade the knowledge and skill sets to take up the future challenges in Data Analytics.

Given the fact that the amount of data being handled by NIC is both humongous and diverse, managing such complex data becomes a huge task and making very quick meaning out of it is further more difficult. Managing complex data is getting more challenging as the stake holders are tending to be intensely data-driven with every passing day.

Data Analytical Tools  come in handy to turn large amounts of data into “ sweet spots of information” for value- added decision making by reducing the time from day and weeks to hours and minutes.

The training was imparted  by Mr. Manish Gupta, Head Public Sector Division, and  Mr. Prashant Keshari, Customer Consulting Team, Tableau which included lectures, interactive sessions, demonstration and hands-on. The event was coordinated by Mr. Satyesh Sharma, Technical Director, NIC CG State Centre.
