Shri Subhash Chandra Garg, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs launched the DEA-eSamikSha portal in the Conference Room, Department of Economic Affairs, North Block, New Delhi, on 4th February 2019. Shri K. Rajaraman, Additional Secretary, senior officers of the Department were also present during the launch of DEA-eSamikSha.

Speaking in the launch ceremony, Secretary (DEA) said that DEA-eSamikSha will facilitate the coordination and monitoring of the progress of Budget Items related to various Ministries/Department and compliance of the various references received by the department. It will bring transparency, reduce the paper work and improve the communication between the DEA and other Ministries/Departments.  

Shri Akash Kumar Gupta, Scientist- ‘B’ of NIC Cabinet Secretariat Informatics Division, gave a brief overview introduction about the eSamikSha application at the launch event. Shri K. Rajaraman, Additional Secretary Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance overviewed the DEA-eSamikSha Portal and detailed functionality with other senior officials present at the event.

eSamikSha application is an online Monitoring and Compliance Mechanism, developed by NIC Cabinet Secretariat Informatics Division, to fast track the compliance of pending action points, proposal, targets, etc. of various Ministry/Department/Organization/Agency of Govt. of India, Government of States and UTs. The portal has been designed in such a way that it will enhance efficiency, bring transparency, reduce the need of protracted correspondence and improve the communication between Government to Government (G2G).

DEA-eSamikSha is the 40th instance of eSamikSha application customized and deployed by the NIC Cabinet Secretariat Informatics Division for Department of Economy Affairs. The event ended with vote of thanks and Q & A session.

Also present on the occasion was Shri Sanjeev Mathur, Technical Director, NIC Division of Department of Economic Affairs.
