Bringing government closer to the Citizen through a
simple way for service delivery and grievance redressal
It was yet another feather in the cap for NIC Rajasthan as the much awaited single window system for grievance redressal and service delivery - Sugam – was launched by Shri V. Naraynsami, Minister of State , PMO and Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, GoI and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan Shri Ashok Gehlot in Jaipur on 12th May 2011.
The Minister for IT & C, Govt. of Rajasthan Shri Jitendra Singh, The Chief Secretary Rajasthan Shri S. Ahmed and Shri R.C. Mishra Secretary Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances GOI, were also present on the occasion. Large number of Members of Legislative Assembly and senior officials of Govt. of Rajasthan participated in the function.
The Operational manual and brochures of the system were also released by the dignitaries on the occasion. A presentation on Sugam Grievance Redressal system was made by the SIO, Rajasthan Smt. Indu Gupta while Secretary IT & Communications, Govt. of Rajasthan Shri Sanjay Malhotra made a presentation for the SUGAM single window service delivery system, developed by NIC Rajasthan and implemented in collaboration with DoIT and Communications, GoR.
As part of the project a call centre has been established at Jaipur. Hon’ble MoS Shri Narayansami visited the call centre to see its operations. The SUGAM RPG system provides multiple channels for grievance lodging to the citizen. A complainant can lodge grievance related to any department, corporation, Urban Development Authorities, etc. through SUGAM-RPG web portal, telephone., letter, mail or by approaching any govt. office upto Tehsil level.
The SUGAM-Single Window Service delivery system has been implemented in all 33 district collectorates and 247 Tehsil offices of Rajasthan. The system facilitates timely delivery of various citizen services eg; Issuance of Bonafide Resident certificate , Caste Certificate etc. The system would result in huge savings of time and efforts by citizen in obtaining services from various govt. offices as all the services would be available under one roof.
All District Collectors & DIO’s of NIC participated in the function through video conference. Hon’ble CM and Hon’ble MoS, GoI, interacted with some of the district collectors
On this occasion, Hon’ble MoS GoI Shri Narayansami said that through SUGAM the state government is empowering the common man and also government officials to redress public grievances in an effective manner. Hon’ble CM appreciated the system and said that the it would help the citizen to get better services in the state and also provide efficient mechanism for grievance redressal.
