Digital India Week Programme organized at Kohima, Nagaland

As part of the ongoing “Digital India Week”, an Inter-School Quiz Competition was held on Saturday, the 4th July 2015 in the Conference Hall of RD Directorate, Kohima, Nagaland with Mr. K.D.Vizo , Commissioner & Secretary, IT&C as the Chief Guest.  The competition was organized by the Department of Rural Development, IT & C and National Informatics Centre, Nagaland State Centre.  Addressing the Students, Mr. Vizo expressed great joy to see young boys and girls participating in the programme and said that the main objective of “Digital India Week” was to keep the citizens and the government organizations intact. Stating that the role of RD Department was to uplift the rural areas, he said the right department has been engaged as the department’s works and programmes were mostly confined to rural areas. Mr. Vizo also urged the students to use social media cautiously although it has become indispensible in our daily life. He said that the three departments could form a perfect combination in disseminating the IT related activities and also appealed to all the participants to promote e-governance services. Altogether 13 Schools participated in the competition. After the final round, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Mezhur Higher Secondary School and North Field Higher Secondary School emerged as the first, second and third respectively. All the participants were awarded with citations and the top three position holders were awarded with trophy and citation. During the programme, IT activities were presented by the Officials of NIC and State IT&C department. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Kemvu Elah, Addl. SIO, NIC Nagaland.
