The rescue and relief operation in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake was incessantly monitored at the highest level. The e-SamikSha platform is yet another example of using technology to coordinate a big exercise.

Cabinet Secretary Ajit Kumar Seth wrote to concerned ministries, state governments and other agencies on April 28, after chairing a National Crisis Management Committee meeting on the day of the quake. The Cabinet Secretary asked all of them to update all information on the rescue effort in Nepal on the e-Samiksha platform thrice daily. in this regard and information be updated by a designated nodal officer. In this regard, for technical support,  Dr Shubhag, Technical Director, NIC (shubhag@nic.in) Cell no 9818309164) may be contacted.

e-SamikSha was developed by the Cabinet Secretariat with technical support from the National Informatics Centre. It has been operational since November to monitor files that are the PMO's priority. The PM himself navigates through e-SamikSha via a digital dashboard that has customized drop-down windows, with each allowing him to see progress in different areas such infrastructure, administrative reforms, pending court cases and special campaigns like Swachh Bharat and Ganga Rejuvenation.
