Sh. Virbhadra Singh, Honourable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh launched the eVidhan Mobile App, Part-I, for the Members of the HP Vidhan Sabha on 30th March 2015 at Shimla in the presence of Sh. Brij Bihari Lal Butail, Honourable Speaker of HP Legislative Assembly. A number of Ministers and Members of the Legislative Assembly were present during the launch ceremony in the Library Hall of the HP Legislative Assembly, including cabinet ministers Sh. Kaul Singh Thakur, Mrs. Vidya Stokes, Sh. Prakash Chaudhry, Sh. Sudhir Sharma and Sh. D.R. Shandil.

Speaking on the occasion, the Honourable Chief Minister hoped that the Mobile App will be useful to the Ministers and Members as it can be easily accessed on their mobile phones and tablets. The Assembly secretariat also distributed Wi-Fi dongles to the Chief Minister, Ministers and the Members on the occasion for ease of access to Internet for the Mobile App from any location.

The Honourable Speaker, Sh. Brij Bihari Lal Butail informed the Members about the various features of the Mobile App. The App enables the Members to view the business of the House, answers of the starred and un-starred questions, unedited proceedings of the house, bills for consideration, supplementary replies etc. The details of their salary, bills, phone number of Government officials will be made available on the same App along with the notifications and budget speech.

The Android based Mobile App is developed as part of the eVidhan application, implemented in the HP Legislative Assembly and is a joint effort of HP Vidhan Sabha, HP Government, NIC and NICSI. The Part-II of the App will also be developed to further increase its utility for the Ministers and Members by including the status of ongoing public works, irrigation schemes, grievances etc.
