Established with a mission to protect the interests of the policyholders and to regulate, promote and ensure orderly growth and development of the insurance industry in India, Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) is a statutory body set up under the aegis of IRDA Act, 1999.

 

The website of the authority provides the overview of Indian Insurance Market and performance highlights of Indian Insurance Industry including Life Insurance and Non-Life Insurance business.

This website is quite well off in terms of content and aims to create public awareness about different type of insurance policies, criteria to be noted before taking any policies and Grievance details if they have any issues with the policies. Guidelines about Where to buy, how to buy, FAG’s, Do’s and Don’ts , general advices of Insurance policies like Life, Travel, Health, Motor & Property are available which addresses common people queries related to Different Insurance Policies. The handbooks on Insurance for Life, Travel, Health, Motor & Property are made available on major regional languages like Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu etc.
