A Two day Workshop on Panchayat Centric Applications was held on 27th and 28th, June 2012 at Panchayati Raj Training Institute, Mashobra, Shimla. About 70 participants from all over the State from the Departments of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj attended the two-day workshop. The objective of the workshop was to create awareness among the Departmental officials about the various applications under Implementation in the two Departments and to clear the doubts/ problems being faced in the field offices.   A technical team headed by Sh. D.C. Misra, Sr. Technical Director and HOD, NIC Delhi visited Shimla for the workshop. The other officers in the Team were Sh. Vinay Thakur, Sr. TD, Mrs Madhuri Sharma, Sr. TD, Mrs Rama Hariharan, Technical Director and Sh. Rajeev Goyal, TD.   The NIC State Centre Team from Shimla was represented by Dr. Saurabh Gupta, State Informatics Officer and Sh. Lalit Kapoor, PSA. The SIO, NIC HP, Dr. Saurabh Gupta stressed on the need for regular data entry into all the application SW in mission mode.   Dr. R. N. Batta, Director, Directorate of Panchayati Raj, Himachal Pradesh inaugurated the workshop, welcoming all the attendees and thanking the delegates from Delhi for sparing their valuable time and visiting the state for the workshop. In his address, he stressed on the importance of the workshop, e- governance in Government functions and the need to utilize the data for MIS purposes. Mr. Mayank Kharbanda, Sr. Consultant also participated in the workshop.   Sh. D.C. Misra introduced the e- Panchayat MMP and gave a brief overview of the 12 core applications that form the part of it, followed by detailed demonstrations and discussions on various Panchayat centric applications by the NIC, Delhi team. On day one Mrs. Madhuri Sharma, Sr. TD demonstrated the MGNREGA SW and addressed the queries of the participants. Mr. Rama Hariharan, TD and Mr. Ashwin gave presentations on ServicePlus and PRIASoft software.   On day 2, Mr. Sanjay Mishra explained the PRI AreaProfiler SW to the participants. Sh. Rajeev Goel, TD and Ms Sakshi Dhall demonstrated the PlanPlus, ActionSoft, and National Asset Directory. Mr. Vinay Thakur, Sr.TD and Mr. Sugunakar G gave presentations on MIS for Watershed Programme and Training Portal respectively.   The various issues raised by the participants were also addressed. The workshop ended with a resolution to continue this session by holding further detailed workshops on the individual applications demonstrated during the workshop.
