Launching of “Traffic Offence Monitoring System Software” at SP’s Office Kohima

In a humble but noble initiative, NIC Kohima District Centre has developed a software named “Traffic Offence Monitoring System Software” for the Traffic Personnel of Kohima District, Nagaland, the first of its kind in the state. The official launching was held at the SP’s Office Kohima on 25th August 2009 in the presence of media persons and Kohima traffic personnel’s where Shri Zekotso Mero, SP Kohima gave the formal launching of the software. Giving the technical presentation of the software, Shri J.G. Lorin, PSA & DIO, NIC Kohima said that the software is user friendly and reports for various formats required by the Department can be acquired. The software is developed in MS Access which is to be installed on a standalone system and the MIS records the offence committed by the vehicle will be stored. DIO requested the user Department to have a secured backup systems.

Shri Mezayi Tetseo, Regional Transport Officer, Kohima also spoke on the occasion saying that the initiative will paved a way for future effective management of the traffic systems in the town which will also help in the revenue earning of the Government too. He also appreciated the NIC Kohima for developing the software within a very short period of time as per the request of the Committee members.

Shri Zekotso Mero, SP Kohima thanked the DIO Kohima and his team for the substantial assistance to the traffic section which is the first of its kind in Nagaland. He highlighted the various problem of the traffic congestion due to its varied nature and said that the new software will go a long way in partially solving the traffic congestion in the town. Shri Relo T Aye, Dy S.P (T) Kohima chaired the programme and Shri T Metha Addl SP Kohima gave the vote of thanks.
