During State Level Programme for observance of Odisha Disasters Preparedness Day, on 29th October 2023, two portals – ODRN (Odisha Disaster Resource Network) https://odrn.nic.in and SAMARTH (Statistical Analysis, Monitoring & Assessment of Resources in Training & Handholding)  https://samarth.odisha.gov.in/ were launched by Shri Sudam Marndi, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister for Revenue & Disaster management and School & Mass Education, Govt. of Odisha in the presence of Shri Pradeep Jena, IAS, Chief Secretary, Shri Satyabrata Sahu, IAS, SRC and Additional Chief Secretary (DM), Shri AugusteTano Kouame, Country Director, World Bank, India, Dr. Gyana Das, IAS, MD, OSDMA, Dr. Ashok Kumar Hota, DDG & SIO, NIC, Odisha and other dignitaries.

Odisha Disaster Resource Network (ODRN) is a Web-GIS application for preparation of Disaster Management Plan at all levels. The application will help the state and district administrations to mobilize the resources for proper management and mitigation during any type of disaster.

SAMARTH is a Web enabled application for monitoring & management of training and capacity building on disaster resiliency and crisis response. The application will help the Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) to manage and monitor different training and capacity building programmes conducted for ODRAF, civil defence, shelter volunteers, NGO staff, departmental employees, etc. at different levels of administration from state to gram panchayats.

Appreciating the efforts, Dr. Gyana Das, IAS, MD, OSDMA informed that the applications will facilitate the state for better planning and preparedness for any type of disasters in future.
