Launch of e-Khajana system in Assam for areas under Mouzadar
Guwahati, April 1, 2023: Honorable Minister of Revenue and Disaster Management of Assam Mr. Jogen Mohan launched the e-Khajana system in the mouzadari areas of the state. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Minister of Handloom & Textile, Sericulture, Bodoland Welfare and Soli conservation, Assam, Mr. Gyanendra Dev Tripathi, Principal Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Revenue & DM department, Mr. Shantanu P. Gotmare Director of Land Record and Surveys, Ms. Kabita Roy Das, State Informatics Officer, Assam, Deputy Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners, and other officers.
e-Khajana application has been developed by Land Record Division of National Informatics center, Assam State Unit. e-Khajana system was launched by the Honorable Chief Minister on 14th November 2022 to offer online payment of khajana of land for areas under Tehsildars. Under the e-Khajana system, there would be two steps to be followed by citizens. 1st step is registration (e-KYC) and 2nd step is paying land tax. The registration of citizens under the e-Khajana system will continue up to June 30, 2023. Following the Agriculture Revenue Year, land tax is collected in the state from July 1 every year. The citizens who successfully register their names in the e-Khajana system will be able to pay land tax electronically from July 1. To register their names, the landholders will have to visit the RTPS (Right to Public Services)/Sewasetu portal or the Mission Basundhara portal. They have to get e-Kyc done and enter their details along with land details. The application would be verified by mouzadar, mandal, and circle officer. The approval by the circle officer is the final step in the registration process. The citizen will get receipts in the e-mode.
Officer from NIC presented the workflow of e-Khajana system for better understanding of the whole system. He explained the roles and responsibilities of each stake holder involved in the process.
