5 day Training Program under e-Courts Project held for Systems Officers of J&K at Jammu

" A 5-day Training Program under e-Courts project was held for the newly selected Systems Officers of J&K from 16th to 20th of February 2009 at the High Court of J&K Judicial Academy, Jammu. In all, 22 Systems Officers for the 22 districts of J&K and 2 Senior Systems Officers selected for High Court, Jammu and Srinagar wings, participated in the training program.

On the first day, Sh. Saleem Khan, Principal Systems Analyst & State Project Coordinator addressed the participants and briefed them about the Project Profile, Salient features, Objectives, and Milestones, Application Areas, Roles and Responsibilities, Reporting mechanism, Site Preparation guidelines as well as the expectation from the Judiciary. Sh. Kiran Koul, SSA and OIC NIC Center, High Court at Jammu briefed the participants about the need for regular updating and monitoring of the project activities through the website.

On subsequent days, the faculty members from M/s New Horizons Info Media Ltd. And M/s H.P. India Pvt. Ltd. Imparted technical training to the participants. Mr. Gurmeet Singh from New horizons gave useful tips about the operation of Linux on the Judges’ Laptops, files and directory maintenance, taking and restoring backups etc. Mr. Sanjay Kaul and Mr. Ashok Thapa from HP imparted training on troubleshooting for everyday hardware problems.

In the concluding session on the last day, the Central Project Coordinator, Raja Shujat Ali Khan (Registrar, Rules) addressed the participants and expressed hope that they would fully use their skills in implementing the project at the Subordinate Judiciary level. They were asked to join for duties at their respective places from the next working day.
