Harischandra Sahayata Yojana is a financial assistance provided to the beneficiary for funeral purpose in case of a death. This assistance is given to the relations of the deceased person for performing the last rite rituals. In case of Rural area the assistance amount of Rs.2000/= is being given by the Sarpanch from his account and in case of Urban areas the assistance amount of Rs.3000/= is being given by the Municipality / NAC. The assistance provided to the beneficiary is being reimbursed by the Govt. of Odisha to the respective Panchayat/Municipality/ NAC account in a periodical basis on submission of the monthly report of disbursed amount.

The Payment is being done by the Sarpanch in case of Panchayat / Executive Officer in case of Municipality/NAC as and when a death occurs. Then this payment is reimbursed by the BDO/Executive Officer to the respective Panchayat or Municipality/NAC account.

This is a fund flow system where the fund from CMRF is being transferred to the Sarpanch/Municipality/NAC account on proper authentication by BDO in case of rural and Municipality/NAC Executive Officer in case of urban places.

This fund flow is carried out by using the payment gateway of the ICICI bank. The Sarpanch/Municipality account need not be in ICICI bank but the state fund is in ICICI from where the money is sent to the respective Panchayat/Municipality/NAC account

This will benefit the people of Odisha at large from rural and urban areas and the 3T (Team Work Transparency and Technology) Mantra of Government of Odisha is translated into action. This eGov application is developed by National Informatics Centre in collaboration with General Administration Department.
