In a significant initiative to enhance the quality of life of senior citizens through technology-enabled services, Dr. Virendra Kumar, Hon’ble Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, launched the JEEVAN (Joint Elderly Empowerment & Virtual Assistance Network) mobile application. The initiative marks an important step towards creating a safer, more inclusive, and supportive ecosystem for elderly citizens across the country.
Developed as a dedicated digital platform for senior citizens, the JEEVAN app provides easy access to welfare services, healthcare support, emergency assistance, and information on government initiatives. Designed as a one-stop resource, it enables senior citizens to conveniently access essential services and support mechanisms through a single platform.
A key feature of the app is its provision of information on government schemes and welfare programmes for senior citizens. Users can explore benefits, understand eligibility criteria, and access relevant information with ease. The app also provides details of senior citizen homes supported by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, helping elderly individuals and their families identify suitable care facilities.
The JEEVAN app also offers information on emergency support services, ensuring timely assistance when needed.
