On April 25, 2024, the Himachal Pradesh Police Department hosted the “Road Safety Awards Ceremony” at the Police Headquarters in Shimla. The event aimed to recognize the outstanding contributions of citizens and officials in promoting road safety. Honorees included representatives from the Police, Transport, Public Works Department, National Informatics Centre (NIC), and the National Highway Authority of India.
The Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla, presided as the Chief Guest, commending the individuals and departments that have excelled in road safety efforts. Among the highlights was the acknowledgment of the Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD) mobile and web application developed by NIC. The Police Department lauded the NIC Himachal Pradesh team for their pivotal role in providing training and technical support for the iRAD project’s successful implementation.
In recognition of their exceptional work on the iRAD project, Hon’ble Governor Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla presented awards to Shri Ankush Thakur, State Rollout Manager from NIC Himachal Pradesh, and 16 officers from various districts within the Police Department.
