NIC Receives Multiple Honours at NIXI’s 23rd Foundation Day Celebration

NIC has been conferred with multiple prestigious awards at the 23rd Foundation Day celebration of the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI), recognizing its contributions towards strengthening India’s digital infrastructure, internet security, and content delivery ecosystem.

NIC received the “Registrar of the Year – Highest DNSSEC” Award for its significant efforts in promoting and implementing Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC), thereby enhancing the security and integrity of internet-based services. The award was received by Smt. Sunita Singh of the NIC Web Technology Division on behalf of the organization.

In addition, NIC was honoured with the “Best Resource Managed Account Award” for the successful deployment of Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI) in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing, a key initiative that strengthens the security and reliability of internet traffic routing. NIC also received the “Internet Service Provider Award” for providing the highest volume of Content Delivery Network (CDN) traffic to NIXI, underscoring its pivotal role in delivering digital services efficiently across the country.

Both awards were received by Shri Karunakar Gupta, Head of Department, NIC Networks Division, on behalf of NIC.

These recognitions highlight NIC’s continued commitment to adopting advanced internet technologies, strengthening cybersecurity, and ensuring robust, secure, and high-performance digital services for citizens and government stakeholders alike. The awards further reinforce NIC’s position as a leading force in building and managing India’s digital public infrastructure.
